I think it is a good decision, obviously, because it takes what is a morality-based law that endangers women, and men, engaged in a legal endeavour and tells parliament to either stand on their morality and outlaw the act or they must allow reasonable steps to ensure the occupational safety of practitioners.
It will be one hell of a policy argument and I suspect it will be one that splits a lot of us conservative types. I have my opinion, certainly, but others have theirs. It's funny that this is one of the issues that the Christian right and leftist feminists agree. The right sees a moral issue selling sex and the left says it's a group right to dignity of the person.
I just argued on my blog that group rights are problematic especially in this one as the idea that women, as a group, are degraded by prostitution and pornography runs smack into the fact that there is a hell of a lot of (tasteful?) lesbian porn out there.
I don't want the Christian right deciding what is moral for me nor do I want the prudish group-think of the left to decide what is right for all women.
