Ezra Pound

The worst mistake I made was that stupid, suburban prejudice of anti-Semitism.

  1. The anti-Semitism he felt was pervasive in the America of his youth and the Europe of his adulthood.

So are you obtusely trying to say that any criticism of Israel of anti-Semitic?

Can't wait to hear the spin on Israel killing 40 in a UN run school...

I think that Israel should return to 1967 borders - maybe then they would have a little credibility - until then, they are nothing more than bullies...

  2. Not any criticism, but much of the current stuff, yes.

  3. I hesitate to criticize your statement without seeing examples of what you mean, but a lot of times people on both sides seem to equate jewry with Israel. That's the fundamental mistake, I think, that leads to problems.

Obviously the two are inextricably linked, but they are still different things, and criticism of the latter isn't necessarily criticism of the former.

  4. It's funny how you choose a quote referring to a time when anti-Semitism was much stronger than now.

It seems that any criticism of Israel is stopped with cries of anti-Semitism by pro-Israel forces.
When honest debate is tried to be engaged such as why does Israel continue to encroach with illegal settlements, the failure of Israel to heed to UN resolutions and Israel apartheid like policies there is never any coherent answers from pro-Israeli advocates.

Hamas is, in part, a reaction to the actions of Israel on the Palestinians - what is so hard to understand about that?

We only get a kind of screeching that Hamas is bad... Even the Liblogs aggregator is not a soapbox for pro-Israeli pablum courtesy of the midget Cherniak...

  5. Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She put the shell
to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside
and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I
    had to tell someone!
