No one was in any doubt as to who that minority was.
He said:
"It is no longer acceptable that a small minority would dominate the politics, economy and culture of major parts of the world by its complicated networks, and establish a new form of slavery, and harm the reputation of other nations, even European nations and the U.S., to attain its racist ambitions".
But still, he didn't name the minority.
Why?
Perhaps because he wanted to have deniability? Perhaps the minority isn't the obvious but rather, say, Freemasons?
More likely it's because Ahmadinejad knows express flat out Jew hatred isn't acceptable even in the United Nations.
Of course, if you're killed as a Jew or as a Zionist you're just as dead.

ReplyDeleteGeeshhh James, I wonder if you feel the same about Palestinians that had to suffer and the various war crimes outlined in the Goldstone report... Or maybe they don't count as people because they are Palestinians...
It would seem that in Canada, War crimes are acceptable if Israel commits them... And for their spirited defence of Israel (heck Cotler even attacked the report before it was released), I find that some have very little credibility when it comes to human rights - this would include Iggy who can't seem to do enough to suck up to pro-Isreali voices in Canada.
You'd hope for some neutrality, but when it comes to Israel, the Liberals (like the Conservatives) back the statement of "Israel right or wrong but always right"...
The more it goes, the less there is a chance at any logical, rational discussion....
But James, do keep up your demonization process. Ahmadinejad is an easy target (rightfully so at times) and silently cheer when our government makes a mockery of the UN with cheap theatrics. But don't be surprised at the blowback.
WTF - The UN has made a mockery of itself with its vilification of Israel as a human rights violator. When Libya, or China, or Iran can go uncensored but entire conferences can focus on Israel it doesn't take a great mind to see that human rights aren't the issue, it's the Jewishness of Israel that is.
ReplyDeleteAs for war crimes, Hezbollah is guilty, too, as was Iran in its war with Iraq. Every conflict fought since the conventions came into effect have seen "war crimes". It is plain to see that war cannot be waged effectively under the conventions and, really, only first world Western countries even bother to try. I could go on, but once again, funny how Israel is singled out from the great crowd of potential targets.
Do you think that maybe Ahmadinejad is trying to distract us from a) his illegitimate election and b) Iran's bomb making?
ReplyDeleteNot to imply that he doesn't believe the things he is saying about Jews and the Holocaust.
Hopefully Obama can get the Russians on board for some sanctions. As long as the US remains vulnerable in Iraq the military options aren’t attractive. The Iraqi government and leadership is sympathetic to Iran and probably thinks along the same lines as Ahmadinejad. It’s doubtful they will give Israel permission overfly Iraqi territory and bomb Iran. Besides sanctions and whatever other pressure we can exert, all that’s left is to bravely make more empty gestures.
This is where the kind of dumbass neoconservative thinking so beloved of the Conservatives has got us. A general rule when presented with problems of foreign policy is to ask yourself, what option would Stockwell Day prefer, and then do the opposite.
Iran is a train wreck of a country and the US is struggling how to deal with it. What a joke!
Could it be that religion no matter whose religion, is most of the problem causing war? People practice their bent of religion believing themselves to be right and condemn others for wanting unbiased secular discussion. What is it about the Freemasons and other religious organizations such as the Knights of Columbus protecting each other from the other....what a waste of energy.
