This is so typical.
I don't think the NDP platform is fully thought out -- but there is no need to insult the platform.
In fact, there is much good sense in the NDP platform -- but it's lacking in fiscal balance. And that's why the Liberal Platform is better.
But the NDP platform not 'snake oil'.
It's an option for Canada - the wrong one I think - but it's as worthy of consideration and respect as the Conservative option (which I also think wrong).
Consider the merits -- not just the insults.
Seems like Harper is now officially worried.
ReplyDeleteI agree that politicians should never insult their opponents policies. In doing so they insult the individuals who believe in that policy.
ReplyDeleteI think it is one reason why Mr Ignatieff has failed to gain traction with the public. He is completely derisive and dismissive of his opponents views and thereby the 30-40% of people that support them. Calling your opponents policies 'stupid' might motivate your core, but it does nothing to expand your favoue.
