Canadians hungry for a federal election this fall, says Liberal leader

It's not exactly election fever, but Canadians appear more ready this year to head to the polls than they did last fall, says Liberal Leader Stephane Dion.

"We have seen over the winter and the spring more and more interest for federal politics," Dion told reporters Wednesday at a hotel in Ottawa's west end. "And more and more appetite for an election."

We have seen this movie before. Mr.Dion has in the past threatened an election until it came time to vote, then we saw the invisible chairs from the liberal Mps.

The thing that could change the election timing again would be if the liberals would do poorly in the next bye-elections. What would be his excuse then? That the people are not ready for an election! When he now says that Canadians are more ready for one. I'll take this with a grain of salt. I will believe it when I see the writ being dropped.

What is your opinion on this Mr.Morton?

How does Mr Dion know what the hell Canadians want.

By talking to a few town halls with a couple hundred people?

The guy has NEVER been debated about the Green Shaft other than a few newspaper editirals.

For Stephane to say he KNOWS how Canadians feel is absurd.

The liberal way of thinking is so funny. If the polls are in the conservatives favor then "Canadians aren't ready for an election". If the polls are close then its "Canadians are warming up to an election". If the libs are ahaead like they where a while back for a week then its "Canadians are ready for an election". News for the out of touch dion, we don't think of elections all day and night every day, we have work, families, friends and hobbies we think of most of the time. I will admit we do usually think of them once every 4 years.
