Somehow I doubt it.
If the Liberals have a lot of thinking to do before causing a Fall election -- and we do, not that it should not be done but it should not be done lightly -- the NDP has even more to think on.
Unless the NDP has a remarkable breakout they will, at the next election, continue their slow slide to oblivion; perhaps to be replaced by the Green Party as the third or fourth party in Canada.
Now, that said, a breakthrough for the NDP in the coming by-elections could change everything -- look at what happened in Quebec last time. But for now I would take the NDP threats of causing an election with a grain of salt.

MM: trust me the NDP will bring down the government as soon as they are able. They have voted against every confidence motion presented before the HOC in the last session. This is NOT posturing! There are two reasons the NDP will vote against the cons: 1. the cons agenda is antithetical to the principles of the NDP and the expectations of the base. The real opposition narrative is an important one to the party. 2. outside of elections the NDP has difficulty getting the media attention it deserves (IMHO), media coverage always increases during an election.
Finally, I believe that the NDP stands an excellent chance of winning at least one of the by-elections but if they don't it will likely not hurt them since any seat won would be a pick up. So no harm no foul if there isn't a pick up.
The LPC caucus and activists can pretend all they like that the NDP non-con votes were posturing but they weren't and it is Dion and the Liberal caucus that has been keeping the Cons in power for over a year. It is the Liberals who will have to explain to immigrants, environmentalists, women concerned with choice, artists concerned about copyright legislation, etc. why they allowed the Conservatives the opportunity to advance their agenda.
