Remarkable Photograph

This photograph is going around the web with comments suggesting it's a Canada ship in Afghanistan. I am not convinced -- from my view the troops look American -- but regardless it is a remarkable photograph and worth a look.

What convinced the others that it is a Canadian ship? To me looking at this picture I can't tell. But you are right this is a remarkable photograph.

My thoughts are that people wanted it to be Canadian and so, poof, it was. Nevertheless, from my own experience, our Canadian Forces are as brave and competent as any but they are in dire need of resources (and that suggests this isn't us). Best!

Oh! You are right about this. I have been saying this for years now. Under the liberal government everytime I heard about cuts to the military budget they always said it will not effect the military, because it was the administration part that they were cutting. But we all know that, that was bull.

We cannot go for a decade in cuts and only be administration it is impossible. You have to admit one thing, this government has done more to upgrade our military then the previous liberal government has in the recent past. This is why everytime I hear someone from the liberal party saying that they support the troops I take it with a grain of salt. If they truly supported the troops the way they say they do they would not send them into harms way ill equipped and unprepared into Afghanistan.

Great post Sir at least here if someone disagrees with you,you do not chew them up as in some of the blogs in which I will not name. Once again good post.

This helicopter is a Boeing Chinook. According to the Wikipedia page for the Canadian Forces Air Command, Canada has had Chinooks in the past, but they've been retired.
