This election will be fought hard in every Province. And the results will likely be very different by regions -- the main battle will be in Quebec but BC is not a certainty for any Party
VANCOUVER (CBC) - As Prime Minister Stephen Harper made his general election call official Sunday morning, a few politicians in B.C. were ready with campaign messages of their own. Ujjal Dosanjh, the Liberal MP for Vancouver-South, condemned Harper for ignoring his own fixed-election-date law in calling the early election.
"I think the challenge for candidates is to ensure that we focus on Mr. Harper and his broken promises and his betrayal of his own law and his breach of his own law," Dosanjh said. "He's not only a promise-breaker, he's also a law-breaker."
Dosanjh accused Harper of governing the country through bullying and intimidation, and promised the Liberals wouldn't do the same if elected
Dosanjh won the seat in 2004, and was re-elected in 2006. He'll take on NDP candidate Bev Meslo and Conservative Wai Young.
