Dumb idea -- High heels for toddlers

Radio reports today about a new idea for girls six months to four years.

High heels.

They are soft for safety reasons but are spike heels and can be worn by toddlers.

Apparently they are selling well world wide.

Not being a woman I don't know if high heels are empowering or the reverse.

But on babies? It seems wrong on so many levels.

Very, very wrong... you're right about that.

Completely ridiculous...reminds of the SNL sketch of the Huggies Thong spoof commercial.

very wrong and actually probably harmful to their development. I have a 14-month-old daughter myself. There is ample evidence to support that children learn to walk do so best with no footwear at all. The wrong kind of shoes (which I'm sure includes high heels) can hinder their development and actual be harmful.
As a woman, there is something nice about being able to wear a nice pair of heels. Moreso for me, perhaps, since I am just under 5'4"... I think, though, that should be a matter of choice once a young woman's feet are fully grown (or nearly)

I understand your hesitation and distaste for the idea. But I have a 3 year old who LOVES to dress up. So for her birthday we bought her a dress up box with these fake plastic princess high heels. She runs in them better then she can walk in sneakers. She insists on wearing these over sized slip on heels to the store.. everywhere. I have actually been looking for ones that fit so I feel safer.

So I do get your feelings, but sometimes they chose for themselves who they are. It surely is not me she is trying to be... I am a huge tom-boy lol. Just keep and open mind.

I love the high heels, because every time that i am wearing high heels i feel very elegant and change my style of walking, i feel more womanly and sexy. Because of that i prefer to use high heels when my boyfriend buy viagra we always have a great result.
