
This is only right and proper -- the Greens are not some fringe group -- they are a real Party with real support. Besides, it is good to have some (slight) gender balance in the debates. I guess the NDP and Conservatives realized they looked very bad excluding 1 in 10 Canadians.

Published: Wednesday, September 10, 2008TORONTO - Green Leader Elizabeth May will participate in the leaders' debate after the Conservatives and NDP dropped their opposition to her appearance in the broadcasts.
Moments after the Tories backed down Wednesday, the broadcast consortium told May she would be welcome at the English and French debates Oct. 1-2 in Ottawa.

That is great news. Adding a fifth player will make it that much harder for Harper to come after Dion. Although the Green's vs NDP, Green's vs BQ, BQ vs NDP, and Green's vs Libs portions of the debate will be snoozefests. Yeah, I might stop by Blockbuster on my way home.
About bloody time. Dion comes out well as being the only one who initially spoke in defense of May's right to be there.
