
At the time of the 9 11 attacks there was much said about how the world had changed forever.
In a sense the world did change -- and certainly some things, airports, security generally, passport regulations, have changed. But perhaps the most striking thing is how things have not changed.
Except on the edges life is very much the same as before here in Canada. Yes, we have had terrorist scares in the last seven years but they have been, and are being, dealt with by the ordinary criminal process.
Our lives go on and the nation has not been intimidated by terrorism.
And that's a good thing.
We should pause to remember the dead; we should say a prayer for them and remember them. But the real goal of the terrorists -- terror -- has eluded them
