Such a situation is a JP's worst nightmare -- and a horror to society.
But for Runciman to call for a law suit is grossly irresponsible. First, he does not, and cannot, know what was presented in the bail hearing. Second, and more important, such claims could lead to judicial decisions being made on the basis of fear of suit rather than law. That's a real danger and I am shocked that the Conservative Justice Critic would make such a harebrained suggestion.

Since when have conservatives cared about the law, and what is "right", and "just".
This is pandering, plain and simple.
