The notice mentioned there were free mental health guides available in English and then it listed seven other languages -- but not French.
I have no statistics but my sense is that the presence of French in Toronto has lessened over the last decade. The use of French is unusual enough that I notice it -- pick many other languages, say Soomaali, and their use on the subway is so common as to be invisible.
Why is this? I don't know. Certainly French language training is available and there is no lack of people learning French (as me -- I continue my painful process). But something has changed. The two languages of Canada are not moving together in use, at least not in Toronto.

Hummm interesting we live in a country where the two official languages are English and French. Than we have something like this. Apparently for some weird reason that I don't understand these people go and do something like this. What do you think the Bloc will do with this piece of news hey?
People should know that when they do stuff like this it doesn't help the situation here in Quebec. I mean really how much more could it cost them to include French? If their budget is so tight, than all they had to do was to eliminate one other language and replace it with French.
We federalist have enough of a tough time to persuade the soft nationalist to stay within Canada and not to listen to the separatist leaders. We don't need to give the Bloc and the P.Q more ammunition or excuse to use for their own separatist cause.
..how about all those bi-lingual signs in la belle province? When they scrap their offensive xenophobic language laws, I'll get onside with concern over the failure of bi-lingual signage outside of Quebec.
Until then, well, quel domage.

Roblaw you just don't seem to understand,do you? These are just the sort of comments that the seperatist look for to advance their cause. We came that close to losing the country that we all love and than we have stupid comments like this.
Just tell me why people like yourself keep giving them amunition hey? Where would Canada be today without the province of Quebec? That is 25% of the population think about it.
a few years back, the Toronto Star published a ranking of languages by # of native speakers. French was 21st!!!!!
I think French is a cool language and I just love the sound of it. My forefathers are French and I'm proud of it. Today I speak the worlds youngest language, Afrikaans.
However I've decided to start learning French as a third language by using Rocket French.
If you live in Canada and speak French as your first language, then you must fight for your rights. If you don't you'll all be speaking English soon...
