The only wrinkle of course are the polls. If the Cons do not have a lead then they may not pull the pin. The Libs however could force one but it seems unlikely they will ever find the polls in their favour.
BTW the Coalition had agreed to an 18 mnth duration of support. That would be over implying we'd be in an election now and Dion as the Lib leader.
