656 Candidates and 21 Registered Parties

That's the numbers for the Provincial election in Ontario.

21 Parties? Most people have only heard of 4!

But there are lots more and they range from the far right to the far left and lots of single issue parties that are neither right nor left.

The people running know they don't have even a fantasy of winning. But they still canvass and seek votes.

Good for them! Candidly I would oppose almost every single policy of the smaller parties but they are bringing real options. The Green Party (now a credible alternative although most unlikely to win this election) started as a fringe Party. And if someone from an unknown Party comes to your door listen to them. I still think the Ontario Liberal Party is best but the most important thing is for people to listen and then decide who can win, who should win and who should "get my vote".
