Yellowknife

Landed in this wonderful northern town for the Canadian Bar Association Mid-Winter Conference. Although large by northern terms the town is small for southerners -- it would be dwarfed by Pembroke. That said, the town has much to offer -- art galleries, a fine book store and a lively classical music scene. Yellowknife feels much bigger than the 18,000 population.

I think it's great that the CBA rotates their conferences throughout various parts of Canada. I'm sure this not only brings a boost to the local economy, but also some focus on the unique legal challenges faced in remote areas. Good for you!!

Well, okay..you've got me there, but haven't you always wanted to wear a parka and mukluks? I imagine it would be a good look on you.
I suppose they could have picked a warmer month. Then again, Toronto this February has been no picnic either.

Parka and mukluks -- well, not an academic outfit... .
