The Bar lost a good friend this weekend with the passing of Crown Attorney Paul Vesa.
Paul was past president of the Canadian Association of Crown Counsel (1997-1999) and was very active with the Ontario Crown Attorneys’ Association, serving on their executive and ultimately as President.

as am I.
I just found out about Paul's passing this morning, while reading through an OBA magazine.
I only knew Paul and Ondina for 1 week, in Manzanillo Mexico December 2005. They were such wondeful people and my girlfriend Erica and I will never forget Paul.
He was a lovable friendly man. On one particular day, we shared a cab with Paul and Ondi and visited the town of Colima. We wanted to have a close look at the volcano there. Our day was wonderful and despite the flat tire on the way home, we had a great time.
Paul also introduced me to Mexican Brandy; I specifically recall him being fond of the "Don Pedro" brand.
Ondina, if you get this, I hope that you remember Erica and me, and I want you to know that our thoughts are with you at this tragic time.
We never did see you guys again after Mexico, but we will always have wonderful memories of you and Paul.
