Maybe the October 14 election is off?

Maybe the Conservatives should have looked at one of those fancy multicultural calendars used in schools, offices, courts, human resource offices, police stations, city halls etc (but apparently not Conservative HQ)

See this story from the Globe online

"PM's plan for Oct. 14 vote hits snag"

Advanced polls.
If they want to vote, anyone can vote early.

Harper's all ready got the TV ads, of him sitting by the fireplace, trying to appear warm & fuzzy & approachable. He fails miserably, perhaps he should just focus on trying to look human and lose that icy fake smile with the dead eyes. I'm sorry, but the man creeps me out. (not to mention I don't like his policies). Bring on an election..the Conservatives know they are losing ground daily.

Here's the thing -- having the election on the last of the Jewish Holidays (even though it is a holiday widely ignored by many Jews) is a problem when the Conservatives are courting the religious vote. Yes they can vote early but it will cut into campaigning and suggests an insensitivity (which may be a falsoe read -- they may be very concerned about the Jewsih vote but need that date). I suspect the election will go back a few weeks.
