Yikes!! The Ivanhoe cheese factory is directly on my way to the cottage and I've often stopped there and picked up some cheese for the family. Fortunately, I didn't do so on the Labour day weekend.
These companies will take a huge hit after this. Who knows if they will recover? Maple Leaf has other offerings, etc. and will take a financial hit, but probably won't fold.. but for a smaller company like Ivanhoe, or the Ravine Mushroom place, this could be the end of them.
It's scary when you start thinking about the whole food supply thing. It kind of makes you want to become an organic vegetarian farmer!!
