(Angus Reid Global Monitor)
- The governing Conservative party holds a substantial lead over the Liberal party, but a change in leadership would benefit Canada's official opposition, according to a poll by Angus Reid Strategies released by the Toronto Star.
42 per cent of respondents would vote for the Tories in the next federal election, while 22 per cent would back the Grits. The New Democratic Party (NDP) is third with 18 per cent, followed by the Bloc Québécois with 10 per cent, and the Green party with seven per cent.
In a scenario with current Liberal deputy leader Michael Ignatieff at the helm, the Conservatives hold a five-point edge over the main opposition party. With former Ontario premier Bob Rae as leader, the Grits trail the Tories by 15 points.

That is until the Tory ads come out letting Canadians know the man spent 37 years living out of the country and couldn't even vote in a Canadian election for 32 years of that. Perhaps the man even still has a green card.
The not a Canadian ads will be vicious, true and effective. No one will vote for a man who didn't kive in Canada for 37 years. he left in 1960 and came back two years ago because he thought he could be annointed Prime Minister, which is what he is attempting now.
Neither of his wives are Canadian, nor his children. It will be interesting to find out from the Tories when or even if he surrenderedhis green card.
He's DOA, so are the Liberals, if he is appointed leader.
Sorry, he left in 1969, not 1960 and has not lived in Canada since until two years ago.
Morton,
Why do you get all the trolls? I want a troll!
That poll was if Iggy led the LPC;
if Iggy led a coalition, the numbers do not improve much:
' A new poll suggests that a proposed Liberal-NDP coalition under Michael Ignatieff's leadership isn't much more palatable than an alliance under Stephane Dion.'

Next should be a poll what Candians think about a Lib/Dipper coalition in Quebec, to oust the Bloc.......bet you'd be hitting 70%
These crooked polls should be outlawed.especially during an election...
