The Shortest Journey

The Shortest Journey

The shortest journey is across the years.
The light has not gone out. The house teeters,
a wall bends. And here they stand
together like neighbors,
my night of now, my day of then.
What could they have said: We’re changing, aging?

The shortest journey is into the past.
Do you remember? A cool sea, two boats touching,
children on a hill have lifted a torch—
Are we aging? Changing? Know this: until tomorrow,
such long hours await me.

And the point of this post is...?

Thanks penlan

I do not always agree with your political post but find most of them at least as worthy of this site as the majority of the other posts.

I can tolerate, even occasionally find interest in the "personal" posting of various bloggers - but I'd say their ratio of politics -to-personal is at least 20 or 30 to 1.

I object to your CONSTANT posting of cute photos and obscure doggerel because it has become the SPAM of this site - and via sheer volume pushed down and away, many posts I would like to read but never get a chance to.

So, please start an alternate blog that is NOT posted here. You are welcome here as a political blogger and you can even link to your to personal blog - from those postings, so you should not lose any readers that care.

PLEASE!

AMEN to that NPoV!!! I have complained about these type of posts & the sheer no. of them pushing really good, thoughtful, informational & insightful posts off the page. I have counted, at times in the past, 11 - 12 posts from James all on the page at one time. That means the removal of a LOT of excellent posts by other bloggers. It's overwhelming & unnecessary. You called it alright - SPAM.

Penlan and Northern

If you don't like them, read elsewhere! I find the posts to be interesting and amusing. We all need a break from reality and the bears do that for me and I'm sure others too!!! Thank you James for all your posts!

Anon - breaks are good, I agree. But the sheer number of them causes other, more illuminating posts, to be removed, quickly, from the page. THAT is what I am talking about.

Oh brave Anon

My suggestion (Alternate blogs for Master James here, leaving his personal stuff off Liblogs) works for both of us.

And penlan is correct, and is also my main point which you did not address - the main issue here is the sheer volume and how that affects other postings.

Mr Morton, sir. Are we going to hear from you on this most reasonable request??

After all - you don't want to be known as the lib-blog-hog!

OK, I hear the chorus -- I'll cut back (but not totally out) the non-legal no political stuff...

Ohh please let's not be so darm dry! Life has
many dimensions, as do we, and as does the Liberal party.

I like the bear images James - to the nay sayers look at them intuitively even symbolically if you can't just appreciate them. As for the poetry! Beautiful - by all means do include it.

Our Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff is a politician -and an author, a novelist, filmmaker, screenwriter thinker academic! Imagine yes, all that - and that's what makes him so interesting.

So please.. continue James - you lawyer, animal lover - poetry lover! Wow.

Thankyou James! I do enjoy your photos of Flocke, not pics of strip malls, traffic itersections, court buildings & so on.

I'm not trying to give you a hard time, per se, but I do know many bloggers are tired of the volume of these "posts". Especially when they don't say anything. It's just a pic or a poem with no written comment from you with some reason why it's even there.

I do appreciate your political posts & do wish you would add more of your own thoughts on what you post & not just cut & paste/link. The info is good to have & your own thoughts would enhance.

As far as the legal posts go I read them, not all, & don't even understand some of them. Some are a bit too technical for me - lol. But I do learn from some of them. Which is a good thing.

Thanks again!
