York back to work legislation in doubt ...

It's not clear to me that back to work legislation would be constitutional anyway but, regardless, this strike has to end somehow -- otherwise York's already weak reputation will simply collapse completely. It's unfortunate it will take even longer because of politics.

NDP's objection will delay bill to end York University strike

Back-to-work bill could pass by Wednesday, putting students in class as early as Thursday

Back-to-work legislation will be introduced tomorrow to end the York University strike.

Despite Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty's 11th hour bid to end a strike in its 79th day, NDP Leader Howard Hampton said this afternoon his party would not grant the unanimous consent required for passage of the bill.

If the students don't get back to classes, some of them will lose an entire year.
Even Hampton should realize, that it is time for the students to come first, ahead of the Union
