On the subway I overheard a conversation

The speakers seemed very sensible people.

Speaking about work and life one mentioned the recent budget; the other replied that it was a good thing that there was a stimulus package because employment was an issue.

Both agreed that Dalton McGinty was right not to bring down the Prime Minister.

We have a long way to go to explain who is whom and why it matters.

Most people don't pay enough attention to know the players, any more than you could name the starting lineup of the Toronto Raptors (unless you're a bball fan, in which case substitute a sport you don't follow). This isn't going to change, no matter what we do. There are only two things that are infinite, the universe, and human stupidity (and I'm not sure about the former)

Great points, all... There is ONLY really one way to be sure "the masses" get some sort of message: A plan which includes:
1) Favorable media coverage
2) "Straight talk" without "dumbing it down" for the masses. We have an advantage of attacking this from the "intellectual" angle - which is something people want, after seeing the Obama Revolution down South. The Cons are "Party of dumbing down" - we can now assert our skills and knowledge and impress the voters
3) Lot's of access to the leader. This is something Harper cannot afford, and does not like to do anyways. A CLEAR and distinct advantage for Michael. It helps that Michael can be clearly understood in BOTH official languages - unlike Harper, whose French is pitiful.

I think we've all bumped our heads against a wall, after speaking to some voters. Better Civics education can teach them how the system works... Maybe their school aged children can come teach them about who's who?

Ignatieff will be knee capped by the Bob Rae team before the year is out.

You can bank on that.
