E pluribus unum

And the coalition would likely have proven unstable especially as the recession got worse... .

MONTREAL — If the proposed coalition of opposition parties had come to power last year it would have deeply and enduringly divided Canadians, says Michael Ignatieff.

"I'm in politics to unify people, not to divide them," Mr. Ignatieff said.

So then why
-did he (plus Rae and Domie)go public, supporting Dion as the duly elected next PM?
-did he and all Liberal MPs sign the coalition agreement submitted to the GG?
And still says he stands by his signature.
-did he keep the coalition alive AFTER Dion was tossed out?
-is he still holding out a possible coalition agreement with the Dippers (excluding Bloc) to seize power?

At which point did he change his mind,
from being 100% behind the coalition to insisting a coalition would be '' unstable and enduringly deeply divisive''.

Had he lived in Canada the last decade or 2, been in politics longer than 3 years,
he would have known better right from the start.

And so the country is more unified now? Hardly.
