Tori Stafford

I am concerned that the police case against the accused may rest on unverified statements of one person. And I hope those statements are wrong and Tori is alive somewhere somehow -- although I feel that hope is futile. Still, the lawyers for the accused, or one of them, says "something significant" will emerge today. We'll see:

Stafford case suspects to make court appearance

The two people charged in the abduction and murder of eight-year-old Victoria "Tori" Stafford will be in a Woodstock court today for what is expected to a quick court appearance.

Terri-Lynne McClintic, charged with abduction and being an accessory, and Michael Rafferty, charged with first-degree murder and abduction, are scheduled to make an appearance by video link.

Lawyers for both accused plan to ask the court to adjourn the case, to allow police to complete their investigation and to allow the Crown to provide them with disclosure (documents outlining the Crown's case).

Meanwhile, the search for Tori's remains has turned to areas around her hometown of Woodstock, under rainy skies.

I am very suspicious. It seems that the female accused has decided to confess to this crime. Yet she can't identify the remains. I suggest that it is possible and perhaps likley she has made this all or part of it up. This case may have a strange twist. I am hoping it turns out tori is found to be alive - which I am beginning to suspect - as police are now looking in the wrong places for a body which is all wrong based on the false confession. She is helping somebody keep her.

I'm quite sure the police know what they're doing.

They, no doubt, possess strong videographic evidence pointing out the two perps involvement.

Let's hope some unethical lawyer doesn't withold evidence as we saw with the Homolka cakewalk.

I advocate the death penalty for all perps involving violent crimes against children. Not for punishment--just because I don't want them transferring down the gene pool like Homolka.

Whoever does these things to children are lower than animals; they are pure evil and not one cent should be spent on them if they are found guilty.

Noteworthy has been the unsavoury aspect that the poor child's image went viral in porn sites. And not one word in the press about it either.

Pedophiles whether on line or not should also suffer the death penalty.

Since the Tori Stafford case, I have no problem with the Canadian government monitoring the habits of Canadians online. Child safety is more important than my privacy.

It will be interesting to see if and to what extent the making of child pornography contributed to this crime.
