Harper's mistake

It was inappropriate for Stephen Harper to use the G8 summit for Canadian political purposes.

If readers will recall, at the G8 summit in Italy, Prime Minister Stephen Harper apologised for attacking Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff for comments falsely attributed to him suggesting Canada's irrelevance in the G8.

It seems that such an attack at an international forum is unprecedented. More to the point it is another example of Stephen Harper being partisan at a time when he should be the Prime Minister of all Canadians, including those who voted for someone else.

Nonetheless, the fact remains that Iggy is just another empty suit best described as a vacuous windsock.

James, Harper lives to be inappropriate. It's what happens when you always think you're the smartest person in the room.

Morton, Harper is incapable of being the PM for all Canadians because he doesn't understand how parliamentary democracy actually works in this country. His proroguing of parliament last year showed that he doesn't understand that the PM is elected by the will of the House to represent the people through that House. He doesn't seem to understand this basic legal concept, if he did he would not have suggested that the will of the opposition parties was a coup. Instead he sees the office as his own personal fiefdom to do with as he pleases.
