Yes, lovely Flocke is smiling yet dignified looking as well.
There is a book called SMILING BEARS by Else Poulsen. It delves into the unique personalities and emotions of bears, and yes, they do smile. There are Webshots of precious Knut clowning around with his beloved Mr. Doerflein and he looks like he is actually giggling, especially when Mr.Doerflein appeared to be "tickling " him during roughhousing!!
