CAMBRIDGE - An adoption agency that is now in bankruptcy took over Cambridge MP Gary Goodyear's constituency office after he moved out of it in the summer of 2006.
Goodyear declined again Tuesday to answer questions about connections to Kids Link International Adoption Agency, which stunned up to 450 families when it collapsed last week amid concerns of high expense claims.
But his spokesperson, Gary Toft, confirmed that Goodyear's constituency office from 2004 to 2006 was located in a Hespeler Road unit that was leased a month later by the non-profit Christian agency.

I think it is all the connections together that make people wonder. The bankrupt adoption agency was supposed to be paying Goodyear's company $3000/month rent for another office space, but it seems they were not actually using it. On the other hand, it is also not clear they were making the payments, as a large outstanding amount owing to Goodyear's company shows up in their bankruptcy statement. Now maybe it is not unusual that Goodyear has various real estate connections to the agency, as his wife was a senior employee at the agency. Still it is important to know that everything with Goodyear is above board since that certainly does not seem to be the case for the agency.
I wish I had a landlord that would allow me to defer rental payments, like the Goodyear's have. From what I have been reading, the Goodyear's have a much greater involvement than landlord/tenant. These questions need to be answered. After the Dhalla affair I thought all MPs would be smart enough to have all their exonerating paperwork in order!
