Bondage with ease then strenuous Liberty

"But what more oft in Nations grown corrupt,

And by their vices brought to servitude,

Then to love Bondage more than Liberty,

Bondage with ease then strenuous Liberty."

Milton, Samson Agonistes

Freedom is hard work -- remember the Israelites complaining the Moses about how cushy life was in Egypt? A gilded cage is still a cage and we must always be on guard to protect our liberty.
