As a resident of St. Paul's I've seen a number of Hoskins signs around the neighbourhood. I was struck by how the signs refer to the candidate as "DR Eric Hoskins". I found this strange. The other (non-doctor) candidates are not referred to as "Mr." or "Ms." on their signs. I also noted (admittedly from a very quick google images search) that Carolyn Bennett's signs did not refer to her as doctor.
What's going on here? Am I supposed to be so impressed by Dr. Hoskins' completing medical school that I vote for him out of deference? Seems a touch pretentious to me.
