Polar bear diet

In general polar bears naturally eat meat -- they tend to eat vegetation (including kelp) and berries only when there is no other food. However, when given plenty to eat and an option, it is common for polar bears to eat vegetables and fruit. In earlier posts I have noted how Flocke seems to prefer vegetables, fruit and cheese to meat. Here Larissa eats lettuce have carefully washed the leaves first.

Maybe polar bears like the idea of eating food fresh from the water, but would they actually be washing it?
