... "the federal stimulus fund doubles as a Conservative war chest"

From Chantal Hébert:

"But Harper can only hope the opposition focuses its attacks on his party's tasteless affection for stupid props rather than on the money itself. While a picture may be worth a thousand words, the photo gallery assembled by the Liberal war room to showcase government MPs in partisan action is ultimately less disquieting than the emergence of a spending pattern that suggests the federal stimulus fund doubles as a Conservative war chest.

Until the government can substantiate its rebuttals on that latter front with factual information, it will seem like Harper has managed to find a way to elevate naked partisanship to a new level."

Why does a media pundit suggest the government benefits from the opposition attacks on "props", could it be regular voters understand the difference of props and if the CPC are guilty of a communications policy regarding a logo it does not correlate with Adscam, Ehealth, HR boondoggle?

Is Chantal suggesting voters will not punish the governmet for using props?

Well, for anyone who actually possesses a little attribute known as "reading comprehension" Chantal is suggesting that Harper better hope that the attention remain on logos on cheques and doesn't move on to the meat of the matter. And that matter would be the fact that the conservatives have, oh what was that phrase she used. Ah, yes, "the federal stimulus fund doubles as a Conservative war chest."

Chantal actually rather clearly indicates that the voters would punish a party for doing that.

You must have a horrible case of cramps - and possibly diarrhea - from sitting here all weekend on every blog screaming the ongoing conservative shenanigans actually don't matter. Why don't you go clean up and get a life? You might come back with a little perspective and a lot less bitterness. Shouldn't we all want a government that functions properly instead of expending mental energies defending mediocrity no matter which party serves it up?

Joesph,

we get the government we elect. I am not anxious or worried if we are forced back to the polls. You?

Does Chantal have a leaked report from the auditor general?

Joesph why are you upset a post from a voter on Lib blogs?

Thank you for your concerns about my health and amount of time I spend on the internet.

Cheers.

Actually, CanadianSense, I didn't express worry. That's just another projection you throw out there from your own myopic perspective. You see, my life and self-worth doesn't actually revolve around which party happens to be in government.

I strongly sense that yours does. You should look into that . . . seriously.

There is a difference between being interested in politics and being consumed by it. The former tends to lead one to want to elect a responsible government. The latter tends to manifest itself in "wanting to punish" people who don't agree with you . . . or at a minimum harangue them endlessly when something negative harms the party on which you've hung your hopes, dreams, and sense of self.

Please find a mirror. Gaze into it.

Joseph thanks again for your concern.

I wish you well in your efforts to support the Liberal Party.

If they find a leader or a platform that people can trust, Liberals may return to power.

I look forward to finding something worthwhile to get behind, since the GST flip flop nothing has impressed me.

It was certainly interesting for me to read the post. Thanx for it. I like such themes and anything connected to this matter. I would like to read a bit more on that blog soon.
