Air Canada information conflcts with airport information

Having read the news reports that no carry on luggage was being allowed on flights I checked the Air Canada webiste and found it said:

Air Canada advises passengers that the new regulations permit only a single carry-on item and recommends customers consult Transport Canada guidelines at http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/mediaroom/backgrounders-menu-5781.htm for details on permissible carry-on items such as a small purse, laptop computer or infant care items.

But the GTAA site says:

On December 28, Transport Canada updated the rules regarding carry-on luggage for passengers travelling from Canada to the United States. Effective immediately, US bound passengers will not be permitted to bring carry-on luggage into the cabin of the aircraft, with some exceptions.

Westjet's site says:

In addition, some domestic flights have also been adversely affected due to late arriving aircraft from the U.S. WestJet is advising guests travelling to the U.S. between now and December 30, 2009, of the following:

No carry-on baggage will be permitted, with the exception of a small purse, diaper bag, laptop bag or backpack. Roller bags and larger backpacks must now be checked in.

I suspect a lot of folks who read the Air Canada site, at least as it is this morning, will be in for a surprise at the airport (of course, if you read the AC site like a lawyer you will realize that the "carry on" allowed is a purse but, sadly, most passengers will not read as closely as they might). Of course, that surprise will delay everyone else. Fortunately we have RCMP at the gate now -- and they are famous for speed and efficiency... .

Read the notice properly. There is no confusion. I am so pissed off at people who can't or don't read and then blame AC. The notice is clear enough.

Woah dude. Relax. The famous AC warmth really comes through in your comment.
