Mayor for Toronto

Good piece in the Star about Rocco Rossi running for Mayor of Toronto. With Tory, Smithermann, Carroll, Giambrone, and Pantalone all likely running it's going to be exciting:

Rocco Rossi is not one to shy away from a daunting trek.

He once walked across Spain on the Camino de Santiago following in the footsteps of Christian pilgrims who have done so for a thousand years. And, as CEO of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, he did fundraisers that challenged him physically – kayaking solo from Toronto to Ottawa and cycling 1,900 kilometres from Rainy River to the foot of Yonge St.

The experience will come in handy now that Rossi is embarking on an uphill journey to become the 64th mayor of Toronto.

There's more to why Rocco Rossi is leaving, I'm just not sure what the more is. Did he bail on the Heart & Stoke Foundation because he thought Ignatieff was on his way to the PMO and now it's obvious that won't be happening. Did he hit a brick wall with fundraising and he's leaving now before the shit hits the fan? It just doesn't make sense that leaving now was part of his plan when he came, so something has changed.
