Airport security -- a hot issue
The Olympics are about a month off. People from all over the world will be coming to Canada and then flying home, often through the States. We better get the airports running smoothly by then or we'll take a heck of a tourism hit.

I have already declared to anyone who will listen that I will not be returning to the United States for any reason (I'm at a conference in Vegas at the moment).
The security is all out of proportion to the risk, and has crossed well over the line to being a violation of privacy and security.
