I got to the Milton Courthouse early and could not get in.
The doors remained locked so I walked about and saw this sculpture -- The Balancing Act -- on the western wall of the building.
Perhaps the artist had a cruel sense of irony?
Standing on a grim industrial street across from fast food places, holding prisoners (and hopes and fears), the Milton Court (and the Ontario courts) really is a high wire act.
They survive more on faith than anything else -- people believe justice is done so the courts continue -- a balancing act indeed.
