"Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear." So what do you think of the Globe and Mail tossing out Rex Murphy because of his views on Climategate?
He refused to 'Hide the Decline', so Rex got the boot.
When the champions of freedom of speech silence a dissenting voice,
that is scary.
Waaaay more scary than the 101st prorogation of parliament.
"Democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where 51% of the people may take away the rights of the other 49%."
Thomas Jefferson
I see the Conservative talking orders have been given. Was Rex Murphy being paid by the Canadian Taxpayer???
Let's do the math on the Rogue's cancellation. $158,000 per annum per MP. Divide by 365, times 308, times 28 days. Equals $3,733,128.80.
That's just the MP salaries. Don't get me started on the ost to reprint every single brief and Bill that have to be reprinted and how much that will cost.
Jim,
Agreed -- but I still think there is something more behind Harper's actions -- maybe I am a conspiracy theorist but he wanted to get rid of the leiglstion...
