And of course we get 5 senate appointments to crowd the news cycle - maybe the Cons hope no one will notice the decision...

the Harper Govt and the Supreme Court of Canada put out their 'hope no one is watching' news on Friday's, don't yah know!

I suspect they are going to rule against Mr. Khadr which will be one more strike against our already weakened democracy. Since Canadian officials actually went to Gitmo and may have taken part in the abuse of a child soldier, a ruling against Khadr will mean that in the future the Canadian government can de facto legally export people to be tortured. I wonder if Khadr's lawyers have connected these dots in the case.

So, let me get this straight. The courts rules that it was the Liberal Gov't that violated Khadr's rights. Hmm, will the Libs call Chretien and Martin criminals?Will Libs demand an inquiry? For years Liberals have accused the Harper gov't of terrible abuses on this file.Meanwhile,the whole time it was they who were rsponsible.It is a bloody disgrace.
