A quick Google search shows Muslim countries are playing a part in the relief effort.
A story out of the United Arab Emirates tells how its Red Crescent Authority has sent $500,000 to buy food supplies for survivors, along with 50 tonnes of emergency supplies. Kuwait has donated $1-million to the relief efforts, along with 100 tonnes of relief items. Qatar has sent a 26-man rescue team, while the Muslim nation of Senegal has floated the idea of offering Haitians free land.

You have to admit that the list is rather pathetic for some of the wealthiest petro-states out there. $500,000 or even $1,000,000 is actually rather pathetic. Where is Saudi Arabia on that list? Or Iran, who received massive Western aid after the earthquake in Bam? Canard? If you mean not 10% true then you are correct. But really, Muslim aid leaves one hell of a lot to be desired.
On the other hand, maybe a quick Google search of Israeli help to Haiti would be educational.
With aid, there is influence. I congratulate the various countries donating money and services to help the earthquake survivors. Certainly, the United States, Canada, France, and some other countries will be thanked by the Haitians. Also, they will also thank the Israelis for their donations.
On the home front, a large mosque on Markham Road north of Sheppard Avenue in Scarborough is asking for donations.
Where I work and teach, students of various backgrounds are doing what they can to help the Haitians.
If the Israelis were to face a massive ecological or environmental disaster, I would donate to help the Israelis.
I would recommend that you check out http://www.theamericanmuslim.org/tam.php/features/articles/haiti/0017863 which has an extensive list of Muslim aid to Haiti from individuals, charities, and governments.
