Where's the bow tie? (It just does not feel like it's you without it)

As donations and aid flow into Haiti from around the world, Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff says a tax receipt could encourage Canadians to give even more.

Michael Ignatieff says he thinks it was important Canada’s disaster assistance response team deployed quickly to Haiti.

Ignatieff says Canadians have been giving very generously to the relief effort and he hopes the Conservative Government will implement another idea, “To make charitable contributions to the Haiti relief effort tax deductible through the 2009 tax year. We think this will aid and increase the rate of donations.”

Ignatieff says he’s still following any developments on the whereabouts of former Liberal MP Serge Mercil, who is missing in Haiti.

Ignatieff has to go, he is so far out of the loop it is beyond pathetic, donations to charitable NGO’s such as the Red Cross have always been tax deductible with a tax receipt issued by the organization.

Iggy is so much worse than even the hapless Dion it is now beyond words.

If Iggy is not shown the door and very soon then the party is over, done, finished.

What Ignatieff suggests is not so different than what transpired after Tsunami a number of years ago. If you recall, the Tsunami occurred over the Christmas Holiday. The aid agencies indicated that extending the deadline a month for those donations made a substantial difference in amount donated.
Although the earthquakes occurred in the new year, this is a tangible way for the government to help. It's a shame that it can't be discussed in Parliament next Monday when it could still matter

What a load of utter BS.
