Tonight we are all watching the same show

Even if you think there was no good reason to spend money on the Olympics you'll be watching.

Tonight will be a real time for national unity -- but who will light?
My guess, a child and not some famous Canadian adult.

Nancy Greene comes to mind although the fact that she is a Conservative appointed senator will outrage a few in the blogosphere.

Perhaps a duo,one male and one female. It will almost certainly be a former medal Olympic winner.

Gaetan Boucher and/or Nancy Greene.

You know, that makes sense and Nancy Greene is a very legitimate choice!

How could I forget Lennox Lewis! He grew up in my home town too.

I suspect though if he were in Vancouver we'd know it by now.

I think not Morton. With all due respect, the Olympics are nothing but a corporate spectacle, an exercise in tasteless nationalism, and in this case a nightmare of Machiavellian control..

Bread and Circuses Morton . . . . Bread and Circuses.
