I'm surprised people didn't notice that prices went up when Harper reduced the GST. Retailers know what they're doing.
They know people think they're getting a bargain (in their own little minds) when the GST is reduced so they up their prices.
Rural Sandi- There are so many retails going out of business. In most commodities I dont think the price increases are keeping up with the inflation in expenses.Other than Wal-mart which I loathe(lack of community support). There are many more business horror stories than success stories. I just dont think with the current economy and competitiveness in most ares that accusing retails of gouging is accurate.
