Opening of the Canada at 150 Conference

I'll post a report later but so far very impressed -- detailed discussions and not Liberal slanted -- some speakers left and some right but, so far, except for Ignatieff, none Party based. Indeed, quite the contrary for some ...

I saw the Ignatieff opening speech.

Honestly, if he is going to refer to "the Great Jean Chretien", he is going to have to learn to lie a lot better, because the pain on his face when he said those words was evident.

Also, Ignatieff has to learn to speak, and not orate. He continues to think it's a performance, and that he's an actor. He's not (or at least, he's a bad actor).

Tell him to take off the mask and be himself. When he's speaking, he should be talking as though he's having a conversation with me in my living room, not preaching at me from the pulpit.

This is a big deal. He won't win unless he can learn to do this.
