Helena Guergis decries Conservative 'retaliation'

Independent MP Helena Guergis is accusing the Conservative establishment of overriding grassroots democracy by preventing her from running under the party’s banner in the next election.

In a statement to the media Thursday, Ms. Guergis denounced the fact she has not had an opportunity to clear her name before losing the CPC nomination in her Ontario riding.

Especially since Harper said the MP from Alberta, Shorly, can stay because nothing has been proven to say he is guilty..double standard

More trouble in the "grassroots" paradise.

Grassroots members of Calgary West have been trying to have an open nomination for their riding (held by the deplorable Rob Anders) since 2004. What would make Guergis so special?

One of the greatest myths about the Harper Party is that their grassroots dictates what happens - from candidates to policy. But, as we have seen time and time again, this simply isn't true. The top brass make the decisions in a way that makes the "grassroots" believe that they've had a hand in the process.

Guergis was in the proverbial room when Bill Casey and Garth Turner were chastised and cast from caucus - she should have seen this coming.

Helena Guergis was a political albatross. The conservative poll numbers have gone up since they dumped her from caucus.

If the Liberals think she is so great, they can have her along with her temper tantrums.
