The field is narrowing. My guess is the ones at the end will be limited to Rob, Rocco and George -- they have the financial staying power and that's key -- no money, no race.
And then the issue will probably be as much who do you want to lose as much as who do you want to win?

Toronto mayoral candidate Georgio Mammoliti is expected to announce on Monday that he's dropping out of the race to concentrate on keeping his council seat.
"At this point I can neither confirm nor deny this information," Mammoliti spokesman Dan Leggieri told the Star late Saturday.
But, Leggieri added, Mammoliti is slated to make a "big" announcement at noon Monday at Porto Restaurant, 2965 Islington Ave.

Sarah Thomson will likely stay in the race as she has nothing to lose when she loses the race.
Joe Pantalone will likely stay in the race as he seems ready for retirement from municipal politics. The mayor's race is just an added bonus for him
Giorgio Mammoliti has a lot to lose by staying in the mayor's race. Since he has no fall-back position, losing the mayor's race means going into civilian life. By trying to run for a councillor position, Mammoliti can cut his losses and hope to stay in career politics.
As for the other three, I think Rob Ford can only win if Rocco Rossi and George Smitherman split their votes. Ford has a loyal following. However, outside of his supporters, he doesn't have room to grow. George Smitherman made a mistake by going to China on a junket. He should have stayed in Toronto. Rocco Rossi has room to grow if he can meet and connect with ordinary Torontonians rather than just his Toronto Board of Trade buddies.

I think you have it pinned -- George has problems (but might recover), Rob does not have a lot of growth potential and Rocco needs to expand his base to win (disclosure -- I prefer Rocco)
