I want to lead the Progressive Conservative Party, a party that will promote true conservative values and principles. I can tell you right now, I am not the merger candidate. I am not interested in institutional marriages with other parties.

Just goes to show that although people claim to want honesty and integrity in their politicians, it's not really what they base their vote on - often, it's all about who the candidate's daddy was and which party your daddy voted for.

Stephen Harper was quoted saying the same thing in te Globe. Harper was known as te least likely to merge.
