Swiss won't extradite film director Roman Polanski to U.S.

No reasons for the decision are available presently.

The Swiss Ministry of Justice has decided not to extradite film director Roman Polanski to the United States, Reuters and the Associated Press report.

The film director has been held in Switzerland since last September on an extradition request made by U.S. authorities for a 1977 sex case.

Polanski was allowed to move from prison to his Alpine chalet in December pending the extradition decision

There is one law for the rich and famous and one for the unknowns or people who tell all. The law actually forces the need to be obscenely wealthy.

IMO, he was arrested for directing a film that was symbolically critical of Team Blair/Bush/Murdoch.
