Gating is the common term for when a prisoner is released and the rearrested on release (at the prison gate - in the case below not even at the gate). It is reputed to be used abusively, so as to keep someone in custody for whom there is not legal basis for detention. Here it seems someone wants Awso Peshdary behind bars but there is not sufficient basis (at least yet) so to do:

OTTAWA — The investigation into Ottawa's alleged terror cell took a twist Saturday when a 20-year-old man arrested early Friday by the RCMP appeared in court on two unrelated charges.
Awso Peshdary was released by the RCMP Friday evening after what sources say was a six-hour "interview" at Ottawa police headquarters.
He was then handed over to Ottawa police who immediately charged him with one count of assault and another of uttering a threat.
The slightly built, bearded man was granted bail by Justice of the Peace Ray Switzer but was arrested again barely 10 minutes later in the Ottawa courthouse cells. Peshdary will appear in court again Sunday on a new threat charge and his lawyer, Richard Morris, said he will reapply for bail.
A police spokesman said the abuse investigation is continuing and new evidence emerged that led to the new charge.
