This week it's about interracial bondage on swingers' sites.
What a difference a week makes!!!
Readers may remember I suggested a judge who bought his/her spot had to go. What about about swingers's site etc?
Standing alone, there isn't much to it. Swingers' sites are legal and interracial bondage, while perhaps a minority taste, is also lawful. Posting pictures online doesn't show much prudence but it's no sufficient cause to remove a sitting judge.
What complicates this case is the assertion one of the swingers was a client (former or otherwise) who was paid money in return for silence (how did that work out?).
And that's where the problem is. A judge who pays hush money cannot be seen as being "above suspicion". If such is the case -- and remember these are allegations only -- I don't see how the judge can stay.

James, it was the husband, not the judge.
Seems fairly standard that if we make a settlement I'm going to ask that you not talk about the details. Seems more than standard in this case. I'd be more concerned if it was the judge asking for cash in return for keeping quiet than the judge's wife paying some guy not to reveal their sex lives. This judge shouldn't even be temporarily removed and she has my sympathies.
It appears that someone was offered money to protect the reputation of a judge. The defence that the bribe came from the spouse is weak at best.I'm with James on this one.
I'm with Dawg. My suspicion - & it's only a suspicion of course - is that if the judge had been a male, whose wife had posted photos & bought silence for hubby, it wouldn't even be a story. The Old Boys Club - still alive & well in Canada's legal profession - would have closed ranks.
This is definitely reverse discrimination. Look at the guy who called it a bribe. It is a bribe in the sense that non-husband requested payment to keep silent. But Mr. Anonymous somehow thinks that the one being extorted is the one doing the bribing. What a sexist society we live in. The judge hasn't done a single thing wrong here.
