Toronto Election Thoughts -- no looking back

No question the latest polls are a wakeup call.

Do we look forward -- with the risks and dangers that poses -- or do we retrench and hunker down -- which leads to inevitable stagnation and failure? I still vote for hope and change. I look to big ideas -- big challenges -- a big open vision for Toronto.

I go with Rocco Rossi -- he has ideas and plans and the courage to implement them.

George Smitherman does not have traction. Pantalone is getting the Miller vote -- he may rise. Rocco's big push starts today -- he will rise.

But Rob Ford is clearly the candidate to beat. But he will be beaten.

Today Rocco Rossi speaks to the Board of Trade and then Thursday to a major rally at Steamwhistle.

It's time for a big bold future -- we need to courage to seize the moment.

"..But he will be beaten"

I suspect more than a few would wager you on that.

Anybody with political street smarts knows that it is going to be very difficult to catch him now. By no means give up but you have to know the task ahead.

Rossi is in hot water now for an insultingly stupid ad campaign. There has been no traction in his campaign. If there is a "ABF" (anybody but Ford) movement to take place it won't be Rossi who benefits.

Quite frankly if he is very serious about stopping Ford then now is the time for him to drop out of the race and encourage his supporters to another candidate.
